artist statement

Most people endure obstacles and tragedies within their lives. Many of us try to discover ways to either make ourselves happier or to reduce suffering within our lives. Both of these approaches would aim to accomplish the same goal of β€˜peace of mind.’ Replacing ignorance with enlightenment through spirituality and education is one path of action.

I decided to coin the term photohybrid, since the methodology of the combined historical and traditional processes [photogram and photograph] Β can’t really be labeled just one or the other.Β

Can religion fill the voids or fix our problems? If we can trace the root of our problems and correct the source, will it prevent future problems through precognition? How much of our suffering is mea culpa and how many people are able to obtain peace of mind? Is peace of mind a concept or state of mind that comes and goes or is it something that is possible to obtain as a fixed state before the body dies?
